Ron:I have read your messages and I don't think I can help.My John Egan ancestor joined the British Army in Cork in 1825 at the age of 24.After various assignments listed on his discharge papers he ended up in Halifax in 1847 where he took the discharge and remained. I have no Egan ancestors in Michigan, and I have not been able to trace his family in or about Cork.If you haven't tried the Clan Egan web site at clanegan.org, it might lead you to some information. With a middle name of 'Crawford' it will be easier to find some information I would think.I'll keep the name in mind as I dig.Good luck.
