I recently began researching this family and ran across several old messages regarding this couple.
I've run across some conflicting and confusing information that I'd like to throw out to see if anyone can offer input.
I've seen several references to Kimballs having moved to Wisconsin, with Olive dying in LaCrosse. However, I believe that Kimball & Olive may actually have been divorced in New York.
Kimball Edwards married Delia L. Backus in Manilus, NY on August 3, 1853. I find he and Delia living in Monroe Cty. Wisconsin in 1870 and Clark Cty. Wisconsin in 1880. I have not found record of either Kimball or Delia after the 1880 census.
Olive, on the other hand, is living with her daughter Clara (Edwards) Reynolds and family in Skaneateles, NY in 1860. Also living with them is Olive's daughter Eliza. I have found nothing on Olive after the 1860 census.
A further bit of info.... I believe that Ambrose Edwards may have been Kimball's further. Ambrose is living with Kimball and Delia in the 1870 census. Working backwards, Ambrose is living with a Rodolphus Edwards in 1860, in Dodge Cty. I can then trace him back to Vermont through 1810.
I lose Ambrose after the 1870 census. If I had to guess, I would say he probably died in Monroe Cty., given that he would have been about 92 in 1870.
Sally Edwards (Ambrose's wife) died on June 12, 1858, in Baraboo, while visiting her daughters (per death notice). I don't know the name of those daughters.
I "think" I'm pulling this information correctly but, who knows, I may have it totally messed up. If anyone has any information on this family or can pick up a thread with this information, I'd love to hear your thoughts!
