Hi Gary - Have you ever run across a marriage between a Frances Patterson to a John Edwards, August 1796, in Rowan Co. NC? I have it but can't find who they are. I'm trying so hard to find the parents of my James H. Patterson who married Mariah Edwards. Cannot help but believe he was born in NC and not GA as always thought. Census records before 1880 give GA, then suddenly, both he & his son, William James, show James H.'s birthplace, and his parents, as NC. This is found on an 1880 AR census where James H. & Mariah lived and are buried. Also believe the connection is in the Edwards and Patterson lines somewhere in Chatham, Randolph, or Orange counties or that NC region. If you have anything that might help, I will appreciate it!
