You and I are from the same branch of the Edwards family tree. My mother's maiden name was Wallace and her grandparents were Neville Redmon Wallace and Rev. Maggie Edwards of Brown County, OH. Maggie Edwards is a sister of your Albert Thorton Edwards, i.e. children of James Edwards, grandchildren of George Edwards and Susannah Downing, great-grandchildren of the James Edwards born in Aberdeenshire, Scotland. The obituary for Albert T. Edwards that I posted on the USGenWeb site for Benton Co., IA makes mention of the fact that Maggie Edwards had come to give comfort to her brother in his final days. As it happens my great-grandfather, John M. Blue, also resided in Benton Co. along with my Baker and Troutman ancestors so I have spent considerable time researching in and around Vinton over the years. There are several points concerning our Edwards line that need may need pruning up perhaps.
As I have it the mother of Albert and Maggie is a Nancy Jacobs, from the same Jacobs family as Sarah, wife of the
elder James Edwards.
