Parents of George Edwards from Fairfax, VA b. 1772?

I am looking for information on the parents of George Edwards who was born in Fairfax County, VA on Jan. 3rd, 1772 and died on Oct. 28th, 1870 in Union Township, Brown County, OH. George married Susannah Downing and 15 children between 1795-1819.

All of the parental lineage information I find for George Edwards has conflicting names. Some say his parents were: Jonathan Edwards & Sarah Everett and others say that his parents were James William Edwards & Sarah Songster. Please help! I would love to be able to trace this family line back further!
