I believe the information about Launa being born in Tennessee is incorrect. I found an 1860 census that I overlooked before because the ancestry.com entry listed the name as Laura. But in looking at the original, I believe the name is really Launa. Further, this census shows a brother named Lionel, and I recall my mother talking about an Uncle Lionel. The birth year in this census also shows 1858, which I believe is the correct date.
This census shows Launa's birthplace as Georgia, and the birthplace for her parents, H and Mary, are both listed as South Carolina, which is consistent with later census's for Launa and William Lee.
Finally, this census lists place of residence at the time of the census as Fairplay, Cherokeek, Georgia.
I am hoping that with this updated information will be able to provide some additional info.
