Searching for family of Edward Edwards--raised by Native Americans

I am trying to find others from my grandfathers family.

We can only go back to the early 1800s. We descend from Edward Edwards whose family was killed by Native Americans. He was raised by the tribe and was found later by white settlers (most likely KS MO territory).

When he was asked his name, he could not speak English. He said Edward and then Edwards--so they named him Edward Edwards.

If anyone has heard this story, could you please contact me. Edward Edwards later had a son named Tilman. Tilman had Lafayette. Lafayette had my grandfather, Kenneth.
