Would the real Isaac Edwards please stand up???
I'm searching my Edwards line and keep ending up with conflicting info on Isaac Edwards who was born 1747 in PA and died 1825 in Grayson now Carroll co. VA-Isaac married Catherine Boon and stories exist that he was a Regulator and fought at Guilford Courthouse and was a representative to the Provincial Congress of North Carolina in 1774..
An Isaac Edwards is listed as attorney, personal secretary,aide-de-camp to Gov Tryon and member of the first Provincial Congress in 1774; deputy auditor of the Province under Josiah Martin;son in law of Samuel Cornell,a council member under Tryon and Martin.
A Mrs Allen Jones was Miss Edwards sister of Isaac edwards
English Sec. of the Gov.
In 1777 an ad was placed in the New Bern Newspaper-runaway slave named Surry formerly property of the Gov Tryon, now belongs to the estate of Isaac Edwards, deceased...
So could someone point me in the direction of Isaac Edwards who lived in New Garden Rowan then-Guilford in 1769 and was supposdely a regulator and in the Guilford Courthouse battle, and member of the First Provincial Congress????
These two men sound an aeful lot alike!!!!
