Thank you for the information on the Fish family. I found Eliphas Fish and Millicent in the 1870 Census at
New York, STEUBEN, THURSTON
Series: M593 Roll: 1096 Page: 444

The index I used listed him as Eliphlet Fisk, but the last name looked more like Fish when I viewed it online.

Fish, Eliphlet; age 65; M; W; farmer; real estate valued at $2,000; personal estate valued at $400; born NY; cannot read or write; male U.S citizen.

Fish, Millicent; age 57; F; W; keeping house; born NY; cannot read or write.

Fish, Harriet, age 26; F; W; keeping house; born NY; cannot read or write.

Fish, Margaret, age 14; F; W; born NY; attending school; cannot read or write.

I am guessing that Margaret Fish was Ida Mae McProuty. The age fits, but I have not looked for Ida elsewhere in the 1870 census. Ida didn't marry until about 1873.

I don't believe that Eliphas left a will, but Millicent did. I have not seen the actually will, only an abstract. I don't think any of Eliphas' family was mentioned.
