Bev,
Have you considered the spelling RENSHAW/RENDSHAW?My ancestor, Samuel Wrensher, was the son of John Renshaw and Frances Onderwood/Underwood of Somerset Co., MD.Another researcher told me that the Renshaws went to the eastern shore of MD from VA.William Ramshaw was in VA very early and was born around 1600 and died after 1624 in Northampton, VA.
Frances Onderwood Renshaw is believed to have been born in 1612 in England and died in VA.John Renshaw was one of the earliest settlers in Somerset Co., MD having arrived there from VA in 1661.He is listed as one of the inhabitants on 28 Nov 1689.
The children of John and Frances are listed as:Elizabeth born 22 Mar 1678; Sarah 2 Jan 1680; Samuel (my ancestor) 15 Nov 1682;
John 14 Mar 1685; Thomas 4 Apr 1687; Frances 1 Jan 1689; Onderwood 1 Apr 1692; and William March 1693/4.The name of Renshaw appears on the list of Anglican families in Somerset, MD.If John Renshaw 1685 could be your ancestor, I understand his will is either in VA or MD.I have not looked for it myself.
Good Luck,
Dorothy
