Seeking information about JOHN EDMONSTON b. circa 1812-16 who appears on the 1840 census of Weakley Co. TN, the 1850 census of Fulton Co. KY, the 1860 census of Greene Co. AR, the 1870 census of Lawrence Co. MO, and the 1880 census in McDonald Co. MO. He had children REBECCA b. 1833, JAMES b. 1837, JOHN b. 1839, CYNTHIA b. 1842, MILTON b. 1847, WILLIAM b. 1850, and MARY BELL b. 1853. The first 4 born in TN, Milton and William in KY, and Mary Bell in AR. He also had with him on the census of 1870 JOEL b. 1855 in GA and LUISEY b. 1864 in MO. These last two I suspect are niece and nephew or grandchildren as they were not with the family on any other census.

John's wife in 1850-1880 was Mary b. 1827 who was probably a widow when they married circa 1846 as she had a daughter Martha born in NC 1842. John's daughter Cynthia was also born in 1842 in TN. With the family in 1850 was Sarah Jackson age 50 so I suspect that Mary was a Jackson.

John's three oldest children Rebecca, James, and John were too old to be the children of Mary. His wife on the 1840 census was between 20 and 30.

Any help would be appreciated.
