Thanks, Cheryl. Appreciate all the information. Since I made this post I have expanded their files a little as follows: Allen Guilford Edmonson b. 15 Mar 1803 in that part of VA that later became Burke Co, NC - d. 12 Jan 1875 in Kansas (?) and was buried in Walnut Grove Cemetery, Walnut Grove, Greene Co, MO headstone still extant. His wife was Polly Julian Denny and they were married on 15 Aug 1825 in TN. Polly was born 12 Aug 1810 in TN and died on 27 Aug 1889 place unk. She was buried with her husband in the same cemetery. Her headstone is also extant. They had 9 children of record: J. Julian , Stephen Alford, Nancy Adeline, Martha Jane, Philander S. , Alonzo P., Levinda M. , Bettie J. , and Clarence W. I have some information ont he lines of the children now as well. I do not know if Polly Julian Denny was maiden name Denny or Julian. She appears in some records as maiden name Julian, and in some as maiden name Denny. I have not notes in the file as to why, so I have not resolved that question.
