Daryl,

Thanks very much for the response! Do we know for sure that John is the name of the husband of Mary Alexander? I would like to know for sure, and maybe we can find him somewhere. Any idea where he came from?

I am a descendant of James Thomas Edmondson.

I think Mary Alexander was widowed sometime during the Civil War, and moved her family to Randolph County around 1865.

They settled first in Northern Randolph County, Alabama and were cheated out of their land before finding another place to homestead in Lamar, Beat Number 4, in the Southern part of Randolph County. The four children were Rildy, Mary, James Thomas, and Nervy.

Mary married a man named Frances Perryman in 1865 . Susan Perryman was born on March 10, 1866. Mr. Perryman died sometime before the 1870 U.S. Census.

By the time of the 1880 U.S. Census, Mary has married for the third and final time to Shirey Parish, who was 70 years old in 1880. Texas Parrish, (a girl) was born in 1874.

Both Susan and Tex used Edmondson as their last name sometimes.

It is good to hear from kinfolk! Which of Mynerva's children are you descended from?

Regards,

Mike Edmondson
