I thought I would try this 1 more time.....with new people now on the board. I am looking for Philip Edmonson/Edmondson. There was a Jr. and Sr. Sr. was supposedly born 1801. I have not been able to find ANY Philip with that birthdate (or near it). The middle initial on both is P.
Philip Sr. was married twice....the first wife is unknown.....there were supposedly 2 sons of this marriage that were killed in the Civil War. He later married Martha A. "Lavinia" Shoemake. They had two children, Susan and Philip Jr.
In the information I received I believe there is a possibility that I may have a missing generation as the age of Philip Sr. was 70 at the time the new family was started. However Martha WAS 40+ years younger at the time of their marriage.
I would love to find something on Philip P. Edmondson Sr.'s first marriage and children AND who his parents were, or at least where this Philip was before we have them in Brookhaven, Mississippi. Philip Jr. was in Louisiana sometime prior to 1892.
I have been told that Philip is NOT a common name in this line, however, I have 3. The above mentioned Jr. and Sr. and Jr's son David Porter Edmondson (my grandfather) also had a son named Phillip F. Edmondson.
