Thomas Gaddy paid 50 pds for 164 acres in Coneto on Balahack Swamp adj. Abraham Hodge, Robert Knox, Hillery Manning, Stancil Barberee, and the Bear Garden.
21 Nov 1811, Edgecombe Co., N. C. Deed Book 0, page 60:
Micajah Mayo to Joshua Wilkinson for $20 a tract of 2 1/4 acres of land on the east side of Ballahack swamp beginning at a sweet gum in Micajah Mayo's corner then west along his line 12 poiles to a water oak in Balahack
swamp, then north 13 west 19 poles to a holly then north 50 east 20 poles to three chinkeypins in Wilkinson's line, then along his line south to the first station; witnesses- John Edmondson and Benjamin Wilkinson.
