William E. Edmondson b. c1760 Martin Co., N. C., d. Jun 1804 in Edgecombe Co., N. C. Son of Thomas Edmondson and unknown first wife of Martin Co., N. C. He had brothers named John and Thomas Edmondson and half brothers Pollard and Randolph and half sister Penny. He m. Orphey or Orpha Howard, daughter of Stephen Howard and wife Sarah.

Edmondson 150 acres whereon he now lives joining my home plantation and John Edmondson's land; wit. Isaac Hill and James Rainer.
30 Nov 1789 Martin Co., N. C.- Thomas Edmondson makes his will. Son William Edmondson is given one mare, two cows and calves, and one feather bed and furniture. William and his brother John Edmondson are named executors of the will.
Other heirs are sons John and Thomas, dau. Penny, son Pollard, unborn child (Randolph or Ann), wife Ann, wife's son James Hodge; wit. Isaac Hill, James Rainer, John Norris, Thomas Edmondson.

and 4 females.
1800- U. S. Census, Martin Co., N. C. William Edmondson head of household with 2 males(0-10), 1 male(16-26), 1 male(26-45), 1 female(0-10), 2 females(10-16) and 1 female(26-45).
14 Mar 1804 Edgecombe Co., N. C. William Edmondson Will- William names wife Orpha, sons Willis, William, and Elias H. Edmondson; daughters Nancy, Chloe, Orpha, and Eunice; He named his brothers John and Thomas Edmondson as executors of the will; wit. Samuel Gaiter, Penny Edmondson, and Wilson Howard.
