J. (Joseph) F. (Franklin) Edmondson and Ella Bender are my great grand parents. I have JF Edmondson's pocket watch with his initials engraved on the back; it was given to me as a gift from my father Edwin A. Edmondson in 1984; Edwin was JF Edmondson's grandson. I have pictures of Joseph Franklin Edmondson and Ella on their wedding day and a later photo in their middle age and yet another photo taken in their later years in either the late 1920's or the early 30's. JF and Ella Edmondson had three children, William Joseph (1890-1957), Ara Arnold (AA) Edmondson (1892-1949 -who is my grandfather)and Ruby Edmondson (1895-1897 -who died as an infant). Ara A. Edmondson married Winnie Davis Swift in 1913 and they had three children, Maynel Edmondson (Gilkey) (1916-1976), Norman Neal Edmondson (1919-1929 -who died in his childhood) and Edwin A Edmondson (1925-1995). I have researched and believe that Albert Edmondson is my great, great, grandfather. If he was married three times and fathered 18 children, then Joseph Franklin Edmondson would have been born when Albert was roughly 60 years of age. My father recorded that his great grandfather (that would be Albert) was orphaned when he was a child and it was handed down that he did not know who his parents were.
