Thos. J. Edmondson's mother and father were Thomas, Sr., b. 1804 in Orangeburg Dist. SC, and Margaret Lyles b. 1814 of Kershaw Dist. SC. and T.J. is found on 1850 Dooly Co., GA census with wife Emily Stanford, b. 1842, in Columbia, AL. They were m. in Blakely, GA.

Thomas, Sr.'s mother and father were James Edmondson and wife Ann Smith. He was b. ca. 1800, Orangeburg, SC. I have not started to research the Smiths yet.

George Washington Lyles was b. 1775 Fairfield Dist., SC to William "Big Bill" Lyles and Elizabeth Ward. Have not started on the Wards yet.

Geo. Wash.'s wife Mary was the dau. of James and Margaret Ratchford Duncan of Kershaw Dist., SC. Margaret's parents were William and Mary Carrel/Carrol. Their wills are in the SCDAH, listing siblings and dates, etc.

I have yet to write all of this down in a file, so I am providing the places and names so that you can verify for yourself. I know that you will want to.

Read the Ratchford Genforum, and I have not made it to the Carrel/Carrol Genforum yet. I hope there is one!

I do know that Emily Stanford's mother was Elizabeth Roland (Rolen).

More later,

Julia
