Hi Rachel! First, it isn't "Bexler TX," it's Bexar (prounounced by those of us with a twang as "Bear") Co. Texas, which the county seat is San Antonio. Here is the info from her death certificate. You can view the actual image at the Family Search Pilot Project. I encourage you to look at the actual image, as it contains more infor than the index does. http://search.labs.familysearch.org/recordsearch/start.html?..#p=recordResults;fatherSurname=edmondson;searchId=82065656002070540000;searchType=standard;givenName=katherine;collectionId=1320964;surname=brown Name: Katherine Brown Death date: 20 Dec 1946 Death place: San Antonio, Bexar, Texas, United States Gender: Female Race or color (on document): Age at death: 75 years 9 months 21 days Estimated birth year: 1871 Birthdate: Birthplace: Marital status: Spouse's name: Father's name: Eli Edmondson Father's birthplace: Mother's name: Elizabeth Mother's birthplace: Occupation: Residence: Cemetery name: Burial place: Burial date: Additional relatives: Film number: 2218504 Digital GS number: 4030564 Image number: 551 Reference number: 53437 Collection: Texas Deaths, 1890-1976 Looks like you may be a first time poster. If you check the Pilot Project, you'll see they have quite a few census database you can look through. I did find Katherine with her family in the 1880 Census in Uvalde Co., TX (which isn't too far from Bexar). James and George are twins. 1880 Uvalde Co. Texas Census Edmondson, Eli, 49, farmer, SC-SC-SC " " , Elizabeth, 47, Germany-Ger-Ger " " , Martha E., 18, TX-SC-Ger " " , Amanda E., 13, TX-SC-Ger " " , Catherine, 9, TX-SC-Ger " " , James, 6, TX-SC-Ger " " , George, 6, TX-SC-Ger In 1870 they are in Maverick Co., TX (which is on the MExican border) Edmundson, Eli, 40, stockraiser, SC Elizabeth, 37, Baden Matha E., 9, TX Amanda E., 2, TX ?Lovering? Lonering? Mary V., 14, TX " " " ", Henry 13, TX If I was to hazard a guess, the Lovering? children might be Elizabeth's from a previous marriage. They could also be a niece or nephew, or then, completely unrelated. But given Elizabeth's age, it's enntirely like she was married previous to Eli. Looks like Katherine's brother George never married: http://search.labs.familysearch.org/recordsearch/start.html?..#surname=edmondson;collectionId=1320964;p=recordResults;givenName=eli;searchId=82065656002070540000;searchType=standard Name: George W. Edmondson Death date: 21 Aug 1947 Death place: Austin, Travis, Texas Gender: Male Race or color (on document): Age at death: 73 years Estimated birth year: 1874 Birthdate: Birthplace: Marital status: Spouse's name: Father's name: Eli Edmondson Father's birthplace: Mother's name: Unknown Mother's birthplace: Occupation: Residence: Cemetery name: Burial place: Burial date: Additional relatives: Film number: 2218652 Digital GS number: 4031414 Image number: 618 Reference number: cn 36191 Collection: Texas Deaths, 1890-1976 And Catherine's sister, Martha, finally gives us Elizbeth's maiden name (although it almost looks like Pell to me on the original): http://search.labs.familysearch.org/recordsearch/start.html?..#p=recordResults;searchId=82065656002070540000;fatherSurname=edmonson;givenName=martha;collectionId=1320964;searchType=standard Name: Martha E Norvotny Death date: 20 Jun 1932 Death place: Precinct No.4, Blanco, Texas Gender: Female Race or color (on document): w Age at death: 70 years 8 months 4 days Estimated birth year: Birthdate: 16 Oct 1861 Birthplace: Tx Marital status: Married Spouse's name: William Norvotny Father's name: Eli Edmonson Father's birthplace: Tx Mother's name: Elizabeth Pehl Mother's birthplace: Germany Occupation: Housewife Residence: Precinct #4 Blanco TX Cemetery name: Blanco Burial place: Burial date: 21 Jun 1932 Additional relatives: Film number: 2115162 Digital GS number: 4163783 Image number: 597 Reference number: cn 60355 Collection: Texas Deaths, 1890-1976 And here, somebody fudges Elizabeth's age pretty good (It looks like she got married at 12!, which we know isn't true). 1900 Census Travis Co. TX Edmondson, Ely, Jan. 1825, 75, m. 39 years, wood chopper, SC-SC-SC " ", Elizabeth, Apr. 1843, 57, m. 39 years, motherof 12/7 living Ger-Ger-Ger Elizabeth's date of immigrations is 1846, Years of residency 55 (with 64 crossed out--that's the right one). I didn't find them in 1910, but if they are living with one of the sons, they won't show up on my quick search (I have to leave something for you to do!). Blanco Co. is an interesting follow up, as George was buried in Blanco and that's where Martha lived. Will, that got you back a generation. Hope it helped! Good Luck!
