I had an enquiry about Edmondsons/Edmondstons from Frederick County VA who settled in Kentucky and Tennessee, Christian County, KY, and Weakley County, TN. I will post here what I have on Weakly County, TN. Weakley County, Tennessee. Formed about 1820. Reuben Edmonston, son of Archibald, came to the area which became Weakley County in 1818. He returned to Christian County, Kentucky, told his father about land in Tennessee and came back with his brother-in-law John Bradshaw to raise a crop of corn and build a cabin on Mud Creek in 1819. Most of his family followed him in 1820. (See EFAB, No. 90, p. 29). 1821. Cynthia Edmonston m. Gideon Bradshaw, the license issued at Dover. He was brother of John Bradshaw, both sons of Charles Bradshaw. Their father’s will was probated in Weakley County in 1828, naming them and three sisters. June 21, 1827. Reuben Edmonston had surveyed 180 acres on the waters of Carlton Branch, 13th District, 2nd Range, 6th Section. (See Vol. III, WEALKLEY COUNTY REMEMBERED, by Pansy Baker. 1827-1837. Weakley County Court Minutes. Listed as serving on court: Charles Bradshaw, Gideon T. Bradshaw, John Bradshaw, James Edmonston, Jesse Edmonston, Rueben Edmonston, Robert Edmonston, John W. Edmonston. John W. Edmonston and Jesse Edmonston were in Fulton County, KY, in 1850. 1830 Census. Archibald Edmonston, 70-80. Female 60-70. Male 15-20. (This Archibald Edmonston married Nancy Meredith, was father of Reuben, Robert, James, William, John and probably Jesse). James Edmonston, 30-40. 2 males under 5. 1 male 5-10. 1 male 15-20. 2 females 5-10. 1 female 20-30. 1 female 40-50. (See Lawrence County, AR, in 1833-34, and Greene County, AR, where he died sometime in the 1850’s). Reuben Edmonston, 20-30. 1 female 20-30. 1 male under 5. 1 female under 5. William Edminson, 20-30. 1 female 20-30. 1 male under 5. Robert Edmonson, 20-30. 1 female 20-30. 1 male under 5. (This Robert Edmonston was born in 1800 in Kentucky, had son Archibald Edmonston, b. Aug. 21, 1829, in TN. He married Julia A. Meredith, b. June 26, 1829, in KY. They moved to Greene County, AR before 1863, where Archibald died. July 16, 1831. Survey of 72 acres for James Edmonston on waters of Mud Creek. Bounded by University Tract, Bargo, R. Edmonston, M. Henry. Transferred to Thomas Harvey, AlJ. Julian, to Ben Galloway to W. W. Reuben Edmonston married two wives in Weakley County, Pamela Glasgow and Mary B. White. Other marriages in Weakley County. Jesse Edmonston m. Frances _______. Living in Fulton County, KY., in 1850. In his household, Nancy Edmonston, probably his mother. Robert Edmonston m. Mary ________. John W.
