We know very litle about this son of Thomas Edmundson of Essex County. He died soon after his father. Edmondsons in Orange County a generation later might connect to him. Ideas and information are solicited from anyone out there who can help. WILLIAM EDMUNDSON AND DESCENDANTS (Thomas-1) William appears to be the second son of Thomas Edmundson and his first wife, Ann Gregory. He was left the home plantation in his father’s will “with all the land on the West side of the maine Swamp known by the name of Samuel Perry Swamp. “ He died first, as James Edmundson petitioned to administer on his estate in 1717. However, administration was granted to Benjamin Edmundson and James Boughan. No certain information is available on wife or children. However, he might be the William Edmondson, b. about 1686, who married Martha Stevens, b. before 9 March 1689/90 in Abingdon Parish, Gloucester County, Virginia. Her parents were Edward Stevens, b. about 1662 in Gloucester County and Martha Elizabeth Lane, b. about 1666. (From Beverly Brunelle and Ron Winterrowd, e-mail, 1-21-2007). There was no will for William, only an estate inventory. See Essex County Wills and Administrations (1692-1800), Publication 1717, p. 48, Administrator’s Bond recorded 21 May 1717; pp. 85-86. Inventory and appraisal recorded 16 July 1717. See Deeds & Wills No. 15, 1716-1718 (Reel 7). System Number 000523369. Edmundsons living later in Orange County, Virginia, are possibly his descendants, Joseph and Thomas. Notify Administrator about this message?
