My husband's grandmother's father was Stephen Edmondson b 1858. Her mother was Mary Elizabeth Whitfield b.1867 Nash County, NC . His grandmother's birth-name was Mary Della Frances Edmondson. Her mother died when she was 26 months old. Stephen brought Mary Della to Nash Co., NC where her grandmother Whitfield (Mary Ann Elizabeth Taylor Whitfield)
raised her. I am looking for any information on Stephen Edmondson. I do not know where he was born or died. I have heard that Mary Della would go to Beaufort Co, Bath, NC and get on a boat (when she was a child) to go over and see her daddy. I have found a John Stephen Edmondson born about this time in Wayne Co, NC I don't know if this could possibly be him. Since her grandmother M.A.E. Taylor Whitfield was born in Wayne Co, NC this may be a connection. Thanks for any information you may have.
