I think your Edmondsons in SC lived in Orangeburg County and were of the Edmondsons of the Edgecombe/Halifax counties area in NC. I have collected much information on these families as my own folks came from nearby Craven County to Georgia about 1784. Joseph Edmondson's brother, Bryant, and one or more of his sons, moved from Caroline County Virginia to Halifax County about 1750. I am trying to sort them out. Your people might be related to Bryant's line but I do not have sufficient proof yet. Some of your SC folks moved on to Georgia and then on to Alabama. I was in touch with Julia Leite several years ago, another descendant. You might know her as a researcher. I have been unable to reach her for some time.
The Edmondsons in Pendleton, most of them, were descendants of Thomas and Constance Edmondson of Essex County, Virginia, through two of their sons, Thomas and James. I am pretty sure your people in Orangeburg County SC are not descended from either brother though there are a lot of loose ends with them, too.
