Capt. James H. Edmondson, Bluff City Grays, CSA,
Posted by: Stephen W. Edmondson (ID *****7655) Date: January 06, 2005 at 16:53:27
  of 2559

Robert Selph Henry in FIRST WITH THE MOST FORREST, p. 127, mentions this officer who was given command in 1862 of a regiment, the Eleventh Tennessee Cavalry. The Regiment, under General Forrest's command, did excellent work until Major Holman resumed command later in the year. On page 145, Henry described the part played by Edmondson and his regiment in blocking Federal General Streight's raid towards Rome, Georgia. Would like information on Capt. Edmondson's family connections and other information about him.
