I am descended from Frances Swanson Edmondson, daughter of
Crawford Edmondson and Hannah Reese. The information I have Crawford looks to be reliable but incomplete. My research indicates that Crawford was the son of Humphrey Edmondson (Edmundson) and Frances Swanson. I have what appears to be good information on Frances Swanson, her parents, and siblings. However, I am finding Humphrey Edmondson to be a challenge. It appears that Humphrey moved (with several family members) from Franklin County, Virginia, to Wilkes County, Georgia, about 1785. Wilkes County was split in 1793 and Humphrey lived in what became Oglethorpe County until his death (about 1800). I have identified the names of three of Humphrey's children, (Crawford, John, and Mary), but have little information on them. I have found conflicting information on Humphrey's parents and siblings and am very interested in getting the true story.
