It is true, I have not been able to link these people with Bryant yet.And the fact that everyone states that Bryant and family came from NC and my T. J. Edmondson & sister all state that their parents were born in SC. I had suspected they came from Caleb Edmondson line since they came from SC. But I have not been able to connect there either. My stumbling block is the fact that T.J. Edmondson's wife & daughter had a picture of "Polly Belcher" on their wall and the daughter referred to her as "Aunt Polly Belcher". The grandkids would call each other Polly Belcher every time one of them burped. Mary Polly Belcher was the daughter of Bryant Edmundson who married E. T.Belcher. They lived for a short while in Rock Mills, Al which is in Randolph Co., Al. just before moving to DeKalb Co., Al. near Sand Mnt. I had assumed that "Aunt Polly" was T.J.'s sister but later realized she was about 30 years older so she must be his Aunt not sister. Only thing is Polly's known brothers are accounted for in other families and she did not have a siter Martha who may have had a family out of wedlock---so I am still stumped. The earliest I find my family is the 1850 Cencus for Randolph Co, Al. In the WEdowee or better yet the Tolbert community at the edge of now Lake Wedowee. It lists Martha as being 50 (born in 1800) Eli 24, David 19, Rebecca 16 (This was T.J.'s sister who wed Jason G. Waldrop and later lived in HH with him & his family). As I stated in the other post--1860 has Martha (much older)& T.J. still in the same HH. Rebecca had married & moved out. James W. Edmondson is next door to Martha then Eli next to him. I do not know what happened to David. I am totally confused as to where these fit in, but I know they have to. A person doesn't have pics on their wall and call them Aunt unless they are related. Could they be some shunned family member that was disowned? No one in our family seems to know very much being that T.J.was a minister & his kids were not allowed to ask "foolish questions". Another question I have on Edmondsons is that some from Heard Co. 1850 cencus are listed as white and some as "/m " supposidly being of mixed color. Do these Edmondsons fit in with any of the lines posted here? Hope someone can uncover the answers to our family questions. Notify Administrator about this message?
