My great grandfather was Thomas Jerold Edmonson. He named one of his sons Daniel Columbus Edmonson b. 186X (I forget right now but could look it up). Thomas's daughter Arnetta Lelon named one of her sons Christopher Columbus (nicknamed "Mose"). They were from Alabama.

Let me know if you think we should pursue this possibility.
