Have just purchased a book, "Blue and Gray Roses of Intrigue" by Rebecca D. Larson. In it is the story of Sarah Emma Evelyn Edmonds, Canadian born on December 1841 and died September 5, 1898, in LaPorte Texas. She deserted on April 22, 1863 after an illness and later married Linus H. Seelye. Happy to send more if it will help anyone or be of interest.
