Hello - I had two great aunts (also Edmondsons) born circa 1900 that both joined the DAR in the mid 40's. In order to establish their eligibility to join they did a slow, manual painstaking geneological search, taking up to 2 years, to qualify themselves. They used a geneologist in Virginia. I have, or at least had, copies of documents that were transcfibed from original court records in different cities on Virginia. Included in those documents was mention of an Edmond Edmondson who apparently "owned" the town of South Halifax, VA. These documents were dated 1845. I'm making an attempt to find out which one of my relatives borrowed these documents from me and has failed to return them. Its quite a cache! Also, I've talked to other Edmondsons down this was (I'm in New Orleans} and they seem to have migrated from Virginia to Tennessee... some stayed in Tennessee & some (my relatives) migrated to Texas in the 1850's or 60's, helping to settle the area of Dallas Texas along with the Prather family. Hope I've been of some help to you -should I find my data, I'll get back to you. Please let me know about your Edmond Edmondson. Thanks, Stephen C. Edmondson
