I know of a Catherine Edmonds who may or may not be the same... b. 20 Feb 1781 in Warrenton, VA (in Fauquier Co); d. 9 Nov 1836 in Warrenton, VA; m. George H. Payne 23 Nov 1809. I have a note saying this may be the same Catherine you mention. The dates would seem to fit, and I would not be at all surprised to learn that George was a second husband... common back then. The parents of the Catherine I know of were Col. William Edmonds (b. 1 Nov 1734 in Lancaster County, VA; d. 28 Feb 1817 in Warrenton, VA) and Elizabeth Blackwell (b. 27 Feb 1742 in Northumberland County, VA; d. 28 Feb 1817 in Fauquier County, VA) who were married 16 Mar 1764. My father has portraits of both William and Elizabeth, and I can share much more information on the Colonel and his line if you find this is the same Catherine. I would love to know.
