Hello Violet,
I am sure we have a connection. My ancestors were James and his son Matthew Edmiston from Scotland and Ireland, (also spelled Edmonstone in Scotland and Edmondson in the VA Chronicles). and Matthew's son James who also fought with his relatives at Kings Mtn. along with the Buchannans. I have the DAR record for James. I have been researching the original family in Scotland but need the Ireland connection. According to my info, Matthew was born in Ireland about 1715. I hope we can share information on this family. I look forward to hearing from you!
