Hi Charles,
Thanks for your reply. My mother is a Fitzroy and her father came from County Kerry in Ireland. Her grandfather came out to South Africa for the boer war around the late 1800's into the early 1900's. I don't know that we'd be related to any Fitzroys here because my mother was an only child but I am trying to connect back to Ireland with what little info I have.
Can you help me in any way? My grandfather's name was Desmond Fitzroy and he was born around 1901 in Ireland so it seems his mother went over to Ireland to have the baby.
It's all a bit vague -I have tried to get info from Irish records but unless I find the church records, there is no info!
