Shane, you are seeking info on Otto Edler. My father talked
about Otto Edler and how this side of the family moved to
Texas. My Grandfather, James I. Michael, and Otto Edler
were cousins and did some traveling together in the west
in the early 1900's. Otto later went to Texas to live while
my Grandfather went back to Pennsylvania. The name was
originally Idler but was changed to Edler shortly after
coming over. The original pioneer in the family in America
was named, Jacob Edler, and settled in Hepburn Twp.,
Lycoming Co., Pa. I have info on this family going back
to the 1500's in Germany and am more then happy to help you
out. I will be emailing you separetely. Am so happy to get
in contact with another member of this side of the family.
Here is a brief synopsis of our ancestry in America.
1. Jacob Edler (1782 - 1852) married Anna Maria Rentz
They had 14 children.
2. Christian Edler (1824 -1896) married Catharine Page
They had 16 children.
His daughter Julia Anna Edler married Peter Michael Sr.,
my Grt Grandfather, while his son Harvey Edler moved to
Texas.
3. Julia Anna Edler (1852 - 1911) married Peter Michael Sr.
3. Harvey Edler (1861 - ?) married Tillie Wilson
4. James I. Michael, my Grandfather - 1888 to 1956,
married Myrtle N. Hill.
4. Otto Edler (1885 to ?) married Irene Sprout

The Family Came from Fellbach, near Stuttgart, in
Wurtemburg, Germany.

4. Andreas Idler, B. 1672, married Barbara Schaechterlin

Anna Magdalena Schnaitmann
7. Jacob Idler / Edler - came to America at the end of the
1700's as a young man, B. 1782,
married Anna Maria Rentz.
