Roberta, Aunt Cora Ruth Edick is as John Forbes has mentioned. She is the child from Roy Williard Edick alias Homer Roy Forbes and Flora Irene Green. When Flora Irene Green died Roy Williard Edick married Lulu Mead. They were married for a short period of time and from a letter from Cora a gentleman named Bert in upstate NY helped Roy Williard Edick change his name to Homer Roy Forbes. Under this name he met Anna Olney and married her. They had several children Bonita and Harold (both died is a fire at 3 years and 1 1/2 years of age, respectfully), Ervin Forbes (John's father)- Bryan, Ohio now deceased as of 04/02/2001, Warren Elsworth Forbes - Bryan, Ohio (my father) deceased as of 10/31/1983 and Roy Homer Forbes - Bryan, Ohio currently in poor health.

Cora was my father's and uncle's half sister. We went to visit her several times in Brooklyn while I was growing up. I stopped to visit with her in 1985 on my way to Incirlik AB, Turkey. I was in the United States Air Force being reassigned to Turkey.

She and I have corresponded over the years prior to her death and she has sent to me many letters with family information, pictures and newspaper articles.

Aunt Cora also gave me a violin that Daniel Edick made. I understand that he made seven (7) and this is the only one left. I have maintained the original horse hair even though I have had the bow rehaired so as to play it in concert several years ago.

I have a photo of him playing a violin.

I also have a family photo album that has many old pictures in it that was given to me by Lucille MacArthur (now deceased - was in Clearwater, Florida). I visited with her whenever I went to Florida. Lucille is Roy Williard Edick (Homer Roy Forbes) and Carl Edick's sister. Supposedly the album is the original that came over from Germany. The binding is in German. I have several metal plates of photos.

I am interested in more information. Let me know if there is anything else that you would like to know.
