My great grandmother, Eleanor Edgett, was born in Hopewell County, New Brunswick around 1850 to John Edgett and Mary McCormack(or McConnish, the census taker was not a particularly good penman). Eleanor married a soldier by the name of John Hegerty and wound up in Ireland, where John was born. The Edgett family migrated to Canada as a consequence of their loyalties during the American Revolution. They left Westchester County, New York. However it is not clear who the members were who moved to Westchester in the first place. Perhaps your information sheds some light. I would love to hear from you.
