Hello Liz Hodgson,

Thanks for your note. Since we last made contact we made a visit to the Carlisle area taking my mother who is 94 years young,as it is her family we are researching.
We found the farm she stayed on as a young girl some 85 years ago,and also located a large gravestone in the churchyard at Rockliffe,a small village not far from Carlisle. Here we found the most amazing detail of her antecedents back to Robert Edgar in 1770 (as you mentioned)
It gave a potted history of his descendants right up to 1940, and filled many gaps in my Family Tree diagram.

We are now in contact with the Scott family of High Bow,Carlisle. I am looking for connections between them and Moffitt, and Sewell and possibly Hetherington, as well as Edgar or Edger.

If you come across anything in this connection,I would be pleased to hear.

Regards, Michael Moore.
