I believe that my ancestry is descended from William Edgcombe (William de Egghacombe) of Devon b.circa 1210 d. circa 1274 who had a son John b. circa 1235 d. circa 1285.

Does anyone have any advice on how I could research further back or any ideas as to William's ancestry.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
