I am currently researching William Gidley Edgecombe b1855 Mortonhampstead marrying in 1887 an Elizabeth Joint/Joist b1855 Ashburton in Newton Abbott District. Children were Edith Mary b1889, Alice Maud b1891, William James b1893, Edward John b1894, all of Lustleigh and Florence Margaret and George b1897, Lilian Kate b1900 and Martha Caroline b1901, all of Newton Abbot district. I have come to a standstill after checking all censuses. I have checked with FREE BMD trying to match up spouses, deaths etc but it would mean for me a costly exercise to buy the certificates as proof of having the correct ancestor. Could anybody please give me any more ideas or websites where I could extract more information on my ancestors after 1901! Is there anybody out there that may have married into the Edgecombe family through one of the children?, I would love you to make contact. Dianne Butler - Morayfield Qld Australia
