Alan,
Still doing some tracking on these Russells and Edgecombs. In the 1860 census Josiah is listed as being born in CT. I have also raised the possibility that he had been married twice. First to Malinda's mother in NY and then to the latter childrens mother in OH which very well could have been Lansil's Aunt. The Lucia Russell listed with Lansil and Malinda could be Malinda's half-sister.
There is a Josiah Russell indexed for Ashtabula Co., Harpersfield Twp., OH in 1820.
Other Russells listed in the 1850 Federal Ohio Census Allen Co., Jackson Twp.
Daniel Russell Age 27 born OH
Fanny wife? 27 NY ( I think she may be Fanay Townsend marriage 02-11-1844 Knox Co., OH) LDS
Mary 05 OH
Oren 03 OH

1850 Federal Ohio Census Allen Co., Auglaize Twp.,
James Russell Age 24 OH
Rachel 19 OH

Again, don't know if these Russells are related to Malinda.

BUT, a John Russell from Trumbull Co., OH did buy land near Lansil Edgecomb before Lansil was married.

Alan,
What are some of the names and dates of the girls in Wisconsin that have the latter marriages?
If you want, we can talk more on our private email addresses.
