Hi Terry, Don't know if I mentioned this before, however in doing more research, found that my GGGF Jesse, was listed on his tomstone as J.W. Edge, not Jesse. Lurline Schrieber Edge, daughter-in-law of James Nolle Edge, son of Jesse Edge and Annie. Lurline went to the Bethleham Primative Baptist Church Cemetery and copied the names directly off the tombstones of Jesse Edge & Annie. She said it was a very large tombstone.
"J.W. Edge, born: 7/15/1822-7/20/1910, 88 yrs & 5 days". Did not see the name "Jesse" on the stone, just J.W. Edge, but that it was the correct stone. Several relatives have stated that Jesse had at least 3 brothers; William, George, & Daniel. State Census of Crenshaw County, Rutledge Post Office, Alabama taken on June 20, 1970 shows Jesse (Jepe on paper) and wife Anna as: All born in Alabama
Edge, Jepe (Jesse) 48 W M Farming
Anna 40 W F Keeping house
Estella 14 W F
Queen 12 W F
James 9 W M
Losina (Jessie) 7 W F
Tolula 3 W F
Bulah 1 W F
Could he be your J.W Edge? Keep me posted.
