I would like to hear from anyone descended from Thomas Edge and Ressey Cobb. Thomas is the son of James Edge and Elizabeth Irvin, Ervin, Erwin. They were married Dec. 25, 1700 in Wilkes Co., Ga. Thomas Edge and Ressey Cobb were married Feb. 15. 1821 in Madison Co., Al. Thomas Edge was born about 1800 in Wilkes Co., Ga. and died after 1850 in Paulding Co., Ga. He and his parents lived for a while in Madison Co., Al. where he married Ressey. Ressey was born about 1800 in S.C. I believe that she died in Paulding Co., Ga. They had a daughter named Martha that married Terry McDonald. Other children of Thomas and Ressey are: Dixon(Dickson) b. 1822 Madison Co., Al.married Adaline Jones 25 Apr. 1844; james Edgeb. 1824 in madison Co., Al. married Martha R. Sellers 18 Jan 1846 in Madison Co., Alabama.; William B. Edge b. 1825 in Madison Co., Al. (had no family); John Edge b. 1827 Madison Co., Al. died 10Mar 1855 married Sarah F._______in Polk Co., Ga.; Thomas Edge b. 1829 in Henry Co., Ga. married Elizabeth Gilbert 23 Sept 1848 in Paulding Co., Ga.; Calvin Edge b. 1834 in Henry Co., Ga. married Eliza______; Sindervilla (Cindy)Edge b.1836 in Henry Co., Ga. sources 1. 1830 Census henry Co., Ga. 2. 1840 Census Madison Co., Al 3. 1850 Census Paulding Co., Ga. 4. Martha Edge and Terry McDonald had several children,(I don't have that file right before me now, but I have them). Their daughter Viola Lillian called Lillie married
Brice Edmonds (Called Bee) they had eight children and moved to Jackson Co., Al. Brice and Lillie's daughter Nadie that married Loranza Bell is my mother-in-law.
Nadie's parents died when she was very young, and she being the youngest child was raised by older brothers. She never had a chance to know any of her mother's family. A few years ago I tracked down a James McDonald in New Hope , Al. that was a cousin of hers. He was sick at the time and I don't know if he is still living. Nadie(we call her Granny will be 89 on her birthday on April 10, 1999.
