Am looking for any information regarding parents, siblings, etc. of Nancy Elizabeth Edge, b. 24 Oct 1834 GA, d. 21 Oct 1917 Garland, Butler Co., AL. Married 19 Nov 1848 Paulding County, Georgia to James Preston Black.
In census records - 1880 Bullitt County, Kentucky, her POB is listed as AL, father AL and mother GA. In 1900 census in Conecuh County, Alabama, her POB is AL, father AL and mother AL.
Her husband, James Preston Black, enlisted in the Union army during the Civil War. He died in 1879 from some kind of lung disease supposedly contracted during his army service. When a pension for the soldiers and widows of soldiers was finally approved by the government, in her paperwork, she states she was born in the state of Georgia but not sure exactly where.
So far, I have not been able to find out anything in regards to her parents, siblings, etc. Would love to share information about her and her children w/James P. Black. I know that she is buried in Conecuh County, Alabama, but would love to find more information in regards to her parents, siblings, etc. Nothing in her pension papers ever lists anything in regards to who her parents were or anything else regarding the Edge's.
Anyone have a Nancy Elizabeth or Nancy E. Edge they are missing from their family? Would love to be able to finally fit her into her rightful family.
