Joe, thanks for the info and I would like to have what you have, my address: 1220 Quiet Creek Rd., Pensacola, Fl. 32514. I have quite a lot on the English and Scottish kings through about 1100, but enough is never enough!

I was looking at the royalty connection through Edgar, 3rd son of Gospatrick, 3rd Earl of Dunbar. The Earl was the grandson of King Ethelred 11. I belong to Clan Dunbar of which the Edgar family is a sept and they sent me a chart of descendancy of the Earls of Dunbar which is quite interesting. As you probably know, Dunbar is just east of Edinburgh, Scotland.

My charts says: Edgar, son of the 2nd Earl of Dunbar "appears to be the ancestor of those of the surname of Edgar." I think that is quite a sweeping statement since there were Edgars in Nithsdale, (SW Scotland) at about the same time. The aforementioned Edgar was born about 1107 and I have documents which mention him and property held by him over in East border country Scotland.

Where do you live, by the way?You seem to have lots of good stuff. How long have you been researching the Edgars? As you can see, I've posted everywhere on the net and maybe I'll run across my ggggrandfather one of these days. I'm having a bit of difficulty getting this message off, so you may get fragments of several messages - sorry.

Thanks again, keep in touch.

Frankie Sawyer
