The information I have from immigration records has almost all come from the genealogy sections of local libraries. We are fortunate to have a very good genealogy library in my metro area. These records will usually show names, listed alphabetically along with date of arrival and name of passenger ship. The LDS Family History Centers are also a good place to locate this kind of information. The centers are usually associated with larger Latter Day Saints Churches thruout the country and abroad. They can order books and records from Salt Lake City. re: Georgia My line can be traced to John Edgar b. abt . 1758 near Trenton, NJ who served in the Revolution. This individual's line is well documented. He migrated from PA to North Carolina about 1780. In North Carolina he lived in Iredell and/or Rowan Counties before moving on to Kentucky. He had 12 children, at least some of which were born in NC. I would focus on those Counties first in your research. They appear to be locations where many Scottish or Scots-Irish migrated in the latter 1700's.
