Jennifer, I fear my reply to you didn't go thru. So - the earliest Edgar I can document is John T. Edgar, HH l840 Ga. census. He was born l803 in Ga. He married Mary Ann Holloway in l827 they had about l3 children! I found an Elizabeth Edgar, HH, l820 Ga. census who might be his mother, in which case she would have been born about l78? I've heard they came from the Carolinas, and most particularly N. C. The Edgars listed in the l790 N.C. census may or may not be part of us. A marriage of a John Edgar and Elizabeth Cummings in Rowan Co., N. C. in l780 are definitely not my ggggrandparents. I noted Roger's reply and he may be part of my line. Will appreciate any info you have and will exchange what I have with you.
>>Frankie Sawyer (The John T. Edgar mentioned above is my gggrandfather.)
