Roger, I'm fairly certain my line of Edgars were of the frontier type as well. They are in Georgia in the very early l800's - my gggrandfather being born in Georgia in l803. Do you have anything on Edgars in the area of N. C., and Ga. I've heard my Edgars came via N. C., but the lord only knows from where. My mother was Jessie L. Edgar and married Shellie Wilson - this was in Ala. My gggrandfather came to Ala. between l840 and l850. Members of his family won land in the Georgia land lottery of l827. Will be happy to exchange information such as I have, with you.
