Bob: After reading your message, I looked through my papers until I found the 1870 Holmes Co. MS Census. The Adam A. Edgar I am almost sure who was the brother of my great-grandfather, Ephraim James Edgar, was listed as his wife being Sarah. Adam was 49 in 1870, Sarah was 56. It listed sons Wm. J. Edgar, 19, and Chas. W. 12. Adam A. was b. in SC, Sarah and Wm. J. both b. GA, and Chas. W. born AL. Chas. W. probably is for Charles Wesley, who is my great grandfather, Adam James Edgar's brother. I imagine the boy was named after him. It must be the 1860 GA census that I remember seeing this same Adam A. with Sarah, and some stepchildren from her previous marriage, I presume. I can't remember what the name was, and can't put my hands on those records. If I get a chance, I will go to the library tomorrow and look up that census. If your grandmother was born in 1893, it is almost impossible that these would be her parents. But, perhaps they had an older son that had already left home, also named A. A. Edgar. I'll keep looking, and let you know what I find. Good Luck. Where was your grandmother born?
