Didn't read your posting carefully enough! Here's more from the 1850 Tennessee Index.
"EDGAR, William 28, Sarah 34, James Thomas Edgar 3, Frances ROBERTS 53, David THOMPSON 33, Frances 31, Penira 11, T SC, B-20-399"
Copied exactly as it appears. 'B' is the abbreviation for Bedford County.
Perhaps Frances Roberts was Sarah's mother, Frances a sister, David Thompson Frances' husband, and Penira their daughter. Don't know.
