James Edgar in Pittsburgh
My grandmother Hannum was born Edith Edgar in 1881. Her father was James Edgar, and her Edgar relatives included Aunt Lizzie Edgar and Uncle Will Edgar. There were Edgar cousins as well, including a little girl who was probably also born in the 1880s or 1890s
named Daise or Daisy.
James Edgar's mother was named Mary Landrum, and I have heard that they were of Irish origin. In fact, I have candlesticks brought over from Ireland from her family.
James Edgar and his wife, Martha Ellen Patterson Edgar, lived in Pittsburgh
until his death in 1892, at which time they moved to the Patterson family farm in Ohio -- Pattersonville, maybe, I'm not sure.
Does any of this sound familiar?
Thanks.
Kristen Hannum
