This is my Edgar family. My grgrgrandmother was Leanner Jane Edgar. She married Israel Young.I don't know too much about her.I do know that she was connected to the Reed and Dennison families. It is said that her father was one of the Edgars for whom Edgar Springs (in Phelps Co, MO)is named. The earlies known Edgars in the area were Reuben, John D. (who were said to be brothers) and their sister, Margaret. They each patented land in Phelps Co. Missouri in the late 1850's.They came to Missouri from Illinois (some say from Edgar County, others cite different counties--all may be accurate--they may have moved around, as people in that era were seeking land.My Leanner Jane was born in IL in about 1826.I have yet to find her marriage to Israel Young. My great granmother(their daughter) was Julia Ann Young. She had a brother, William, and sisters, Margaret "Matt" who married Tom Good and Mary "Molly" who married John Dennison.I look forward to trading information.Joan
